Welcome to the Mu Shin Martial Culture Channel! I'm Byron Jacobs, and I have been practicing martial arts for the majority of my life with a deep focus on Chinese martial arts. I have lived and studied in Beijing for over a decade, studying under a renowned old generation master of Chinese martial arts, and I have worked extensively in this field for 2 decades. This channel is dedicated to the martial arts practices and their related culture and lifestyle aspects.
With a unique insight into the technical aspects, language and cultural nuances of these arts, this channel aims to share with the world instructional videos of a superior technical standard and insights into the culture surrounding the arts and people involved in these practices, which are very rarely seen outside of the far east. Currently we do this through our ventures of the instructional videos, in depth discussions on our "Drunken Boxing Podcast", and focused feature program named "Senki".

@@Create-The-Imaginable I'm not sure what you are saying actually
I was privy to just about everything you had in your presentation. It's history is awesome. But its what people are expecting.
I'll be finishing the series hopefully in the coming months. Glad you liked it!
Hello Byron .I am Devananda Giri.I am in Weihai now till October.if you have time come to visit me.
thank you!🙏🙏🙏

Awesome I love it💥👊🏻💕
Thanks!
Thank you Shifu 👍🏻🌳
Very welcome
Very straightforward technique, very easy to counter and lots of opening.
No tactics have been presented in this video. Your comment can be applied to almost any individual technique from any combat system.
Great work and inspiring,. just had a knee replacement about 4 months ago...not able to fully practice forms yet... doing static standing...
Thanks. Take it step by step and day by day and you will recover and get back into things over some time. Don't rush your recovery. I wish you a good recovery!
Its humans... humans and their.. lovely ways of (not) thinking. Humans that compare 2 people one spending 4 hours a day training 6 days a week and the other training 2x 1,5 hours a week. And they are so much surprised that those who train 8 times more have better skills in their own sport or way or kungfu... wow, its a miracle, its 2024 and we can use the Internet to express how surprised we are when a person who trains 8 times more than another one is better at whatever he is doing O_o While in reality, pro fighters (lets say UFC for instance) prove that martial arts work. Not like it was a serious question ever. UFC fighters use exactly the same techniques and strategise that 'traditional martial art practicioners' use, or try to use. Obviously there are many styles and seemingly different tactics and approaches, in the end sport fighters just prove that martial arts work. Prove it every time they fight and one of them *wins* the fight.
Thank you sir, for Memorializing this in video, and for helping to safe keep the place.
It's my pleasure
Very beautiful, this tribute to them, Sifu Jacobs.
@@jeroenverreyken2878 thanks
Thanks for this podcast, good to hear a bit more about Wu taiji! Which videos were the ones of Strider mentioned at the beginning? Also, if I may add... I find the ads seem to interrupt the speaker. Nothing against ads at all, I like what you're promoting... but it would make for easy listening if the ad breaks were more explicit. Just my 2 cents.
The videos used to be on UA-cam. I'll have a search, and you can give it a try too. If they are still up I'm sure you will find them. About the ads, yeah, maybe I'll add a tone prior to each one starting. Unfortunately I need the support to keep doing these things and the ads are a way to try do exactly that. Thanks for listening!
Thank you for the online course. I will participate in it in the coming days
Welcome!
Thank you Byron! Looking forward to listening to this. Strider's Tong Bei applications videos have inspired me for years and still do.
@@gary6110 glad to hear it!
I have to agree. Having been a student in a line claiming MaGui. One MaGui had no Tudi. Two Liu Wanchuan had influences from Liu Bin and his uncle.
Thanks for listening to the episode Justin!
It's branding - one could call it "Cheng style" (due to the formal lineage via Liu Bin). Material-wise it appears to be a mix of Cheng, Yin, and Liang.
@26:00 Totally agree. I had to give up Wing Chun while I was studying Karate early 2000s, because my Wing Chun teacher told me I had to do one or the other. Well I valued practicing foot movement ,so I stayed with my Karate teacher. Otherwise, I would have been happy to keep learning Wing Chun.
Happens all too often unfortunately
Iv'e seen videos of strider very impressive !!!!
Indeed
So i have been using this technique without knowing it's already discovered because no one believed 😅
Nice. What do you practice?
Can you make a video about Kyokushin Karate and Judo? Thanks.
Possibly in the future
But why did he want Shifu Dong’s grave to be moved in the first place?
Watch the full length video and it is all explained
Is this northern or southern kung fu?
Northern
Thank you very much. This was great to Listen and Understand!
You are very welcome!
What we called please in english
I'm sorry, I don't understand your question
My main weapon😊 It's seems to be the best weapon for baguazhang technique🤟
It's a great weapon
77 years old and he still can execute his moves so gracefully! Chinese Internal Martial Arts one of the greatest benefits have got to be it's age defying effects and the vitality it grants its practitioners
The secret is to just keep moving, and move correctly
Just suuuuch an incredibly calming and likeable fellow. A good spirit. Another great and insightful video reflecting a deep level of integrity.
Thanks!
Absolute beautiful place you film in🙏🏻
Thanks!
Excellent form and demonstration. I learned a deer horn blades (crescent knives) set from Andrew Dale in Seattle. I always enjoyed free sparing with them against a staff-- it gives ones an appreciation of how effective they become in close-range against a long weapon. Cheers
They are excellent weapons!
Good information
Thanks. Have you watched the full video on my channel yet?

just so you know hinmsyana is a derogatory term meaning inferior vehicle. the word was made up by mahayana Buddhists to refer to older forms of buddhism. I believe the polite term is theravada. of course as a Vajrayana Buddhist it's not really relevant to me personally.
Thanks, although the term isn't necessarily derogatory. I have had Theravada teachers use the term with me directly simply as a differentiation from Mahayana sects.
It’s not derogatory. It means that Hinayana deals with the freedom of oneself (small vehicle) and Mahayana deals with everyone’s freedom of suffering (greater vehicle).
Please hindi espeach
Coming soon
I used this technique on a drunkard a$$hole once, it's a great threat repellent cuz it leaves them like "Huh!?" but realising you know your stuff.
Nice one!
six harmonies
So much resemblance of an execution of yin fu bagua dragon palm👍🙏
Liang style has elements of both Yin and Cheng in it
